Sheridan is a city located in Grant County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 3,872. The city is the county seat of Grant County.

Sheridan is located at 34°18'30" North, 92°24'13" West (34.308358, -92.403681).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.3 km2 (4.0 mi2). 10.3 km2 (4.0 mi2) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Sheridan Demographics:

As of the census of 2000, there are 3,872 people, 1,509 households, and 1,050 families residing in the city. The population density is 377.5/km2 (978.8/mi2). There are 1,685 housing units at an average density of 164.3/km2 (426.0/mi2). The racial makeup of the city is 97.34% White, 0.96% Black or African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. 0.96% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,509 households out of which 35.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% are married couples living together, 10.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.4% are non-families. 27.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 3.02.

In the city the population is spread out with 26.3% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 90.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.0 males.
